Invaders Day! (Team 3)

The Team 3 corridor was invaded today as Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Normans and dragons(!) appeared this morning and tried to settle in our land. Luckily, there were a few Britons who eventually persuaded them to leave! Our Hook Day was to start our new theme of Invaders and Settlers. The children had a great day and looked amazing in their costumes.

Fun at QE

The children had a lovely active afternoon at QE. The PE students from QE did a fantastic job coaching our Year 1 and 2s as they rotated around to 10 different activity stations. There were some pink faces and a lot of big smiles as they took part in games whilst practising a lot of different skills. Here are a few action shots from the afternoon. Thank you so much to our parent volunteers, who helped us to escort the children to and from QE.(sorry you got a little soggy!)

Roman Mosaic Making

Team 2 had our Open Afternoon this week! We took inspiration from The Romans and decided to create our very own Roman mosaic tiles. We have been busy designing our mosaics in art, and exploring which colours the Romans used the most and what sort of designs they would have created. We also spent some time looking at which colours would go well together and different mosaic making techniques we could use. For our Open Afternoon we shaped our clay into the shapes we wanted our tiles to be and then chose our coloured tiles to design on the front. We used our designs from art to create the patterns we wanted and then put it together! We think they look fantasic! Thank you to all the parents and

Gymnastics Festival

This week Team 2 were lucky enough to be invited to take part in a gymnastics festival, held at Queen Elizabeths School. We were able to use what we have been learning in our PE lessons to help us and we all learnt some new skills we got to try out at school. We had a fantastic time and learnt lots of new skills! #pe

Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome back to Team 2! Click here to download a copy of our Curriculum Map for this term. We are really lucky in Miss Maddison's to have a PGCE student working with us this term. Miss Gorania will be working with us until Easter. The Multiplication Tables Check As we have mentioned in the previous Curriculum letter, the Department for Education (DFE) have confirmed that all schools will be expected to administer a multiplication test to their year 4 pupils from 2019-20. We are continuing to use “TimesTable Rockstar” to support the children’s times tables knowledge and if possible would encourage children to use this programme to practise their times tables at home

Miss Brown will be offering an ‘eco brick’ drop in club after school on Mondays until 4:15pm in the EYFS Unit; the club is for any interested Landscore parents, children and members of the wider community who would like to learn more about eco bricks and would like to help with making them. Please feel free to drop off your completed bottles, empty bottles and your clean non-recyclable rubbish to the unit during this time! We look forward to seeing you.
