Stone Age Open Afternoon

Team 2 had a fantastic Open Afternoon on Thursday 28th of March - we would all like to say a massive thank you to all the parents/carers who came in to see the children's Stone Age projects and lend a 'hand' with our Stone Age art piece! We started the afternoon in the hall where we made a collaborative piece of Stone Age inspired Art using charcoal that Mr Hadden's class had made. Everyone made a hand print using charcoal and then displayed these together - the end result looks great! The children then got to show off and explain about their projects that they have been making over the last term. Each group have chosen a period from the Stone Age (Paleolithic, Mesolithic or Neolithic) and have spent the last few weeks independently researching, creating and building their displays around these eras. We have seen some incredibly creative thinking with children building their own models, including caves and huts, creating their own Stone Age artwork and even some making their own Stone Age inspired weapons and jewellery! Everyone has worked extremely hard and it was fantastic to be able to celebrate all the children's hard work - well done all!
