Welcome to Year 1 and Year 2!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued help and support with the work we are doing with your child in school. We especially appreciate your support with their reading, which forms a key part of their homework at this stage. You should have already received a reading book (book band or Accelerated Reader) and a reading diary. Please remember that Year 2 children are now responsible for changing their own books. We will continue to change Year 1 children’s books as needed on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Our Topic this term is ‘Long, long ago’ and we have lots exciting things to look forward to. At the end of the term the children will be creating a ‘museum’ to display all of their work they have done throughout the term. The date and time of our Open Afternoon is Tuesday 15th October at 2:30pm.

Other dates for your diary include:

24th September - Fossil making (letter sent out)

1st October – Grandparent visit (letter sent out)

Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th October -  Parents’ Evenings

Friday 18th October - Non Pupil Day

Monday 21st – Friday 25th October Half Term Holiday

In an effort to reduce paper usage, we are planning to send more of our letters out via email.

If you would prefer to receive paper copies of all correspondence, please let the office know.

If you wish to talk to us, we are usually available after school for a quick chat. Alternatively, we would be happy to make an appointment to see you.

Thank you for your support,

Miss Coney, Miss Davey, Mrs Williams and Mr Seller
