Pirate Day in Team 1

The children enjoyed a fun day dressed as pirates. Thank you to parents for the amazing costumes! The pirates had a busy morning...climbing the rigging in PE, putting finishing touches to their impressive paper mâché treasure islands and learning a special song and dance.

We had a great turn out for the Open Afternoon. Thank you! After sharing theme work and being shown around the spectacular islands, the excited pirates and parents set off on a treasure hunt. They searched all three classrooms high and low, finding letters to spell....

'T-R-E-A-S-U-R-E H-U-N-T-E-R-S'.

The next challenge was to crack-the-code. Together they deciphered a coded message - some parents proving to be quite quick at this and just a little competitive. The message was from the Golden Hind Ship's Captain, saying they are looking forward to our visit soon.

We rounded off the afternoon in pirate style with a song and dance. Well done to parents who joined in, unfortunately we didn't capture it on film to share - there's always next time.

Again, many thanks for your continued support. It was lovely to see so many faces, the children loved sharing their learning with you.
