Year 3 and 4 Maths - Week Beginning 4th January

This week we will be focusing on multiply and dividing by 10 and 100.

Tuesday

Today we are looking at how we multiply numbers by 10.

This video will help you - https://vimeo.com/474994166

To help you have a look at the place value charts below.

Use something at home as a counter (a coin, marble or anything that can be easily moved!) and practise multiplying by 10 by moving the counter one place to the left.

This is making your number ten times bigger.

Practise with these calculations - 3 x 10 = 14 x 10 = 24 x 10 = 28 x 10 = 43 x 10 =

59 x 10 = 123 x 10 =

10 x 145 =

10 x 283 =

Wednesday

Today we are looking at multiplying by 100.

Here is a link to a video to help you - https://vimeo.com/474994600 To help you have a look at the place value charts below.

Use something at home as a counter (a coin, marble or anything that can be easily moved!) and practise multiplying by 100 by moving the counter two places to the left.

This is making your number a hundred times bigger.

Practise with these calculations - 3 x 100 = 13 x 100 = 42 x 100 = 25 x 100 = 43 x 100 =

314 x 100 = 123 x 100 =

100 x 145 =

100 x 283 =

Thursday

Today we are looking at dividing by 10. Here is a link to a video that will help you - https://vimeo.com/475113712

To help you have a look at the place value charts below.

Use something at home as a counter (a coin, marble or anything that can be easily moved!) and practise dividing by 10 by moving the counter one places to the right.

This is making your number a ten times smaller.

Practise with these calculations - 230 ÷ 10 = 140 ÷ 10 = 840 ÷ 10 = 620 ÷ 10 = 790 ÷ 10 = 1240 ÷ 10 = 1450 ÷ 10 =

Friday

Today we are looking at dividing by 100. Here is a link to a video that will help you - https://vimeo.com/475385464

To help you have a look at the place value charts below.

Use something at home as a counter (a coin, marble or anything that can be easily moved!) and practise dividing by 100 by moving the counter two places to the right.

This is making your number a hundred times smaller.

Practise with these calculations - 2230 ÷ 100 = 1140 ÷ 100 = 8840 ÷ 100 = 6220 ÷ 100 = 7290 ÷ 100 = 1240 ÷ 100 = 1450 ÷ 100 =
