Super Sewing

In Team 2 we have had a fantastic time this half term designing and making our own cushions!

We have been studying "Colour Theory" in Art and the children thought very carefully about the different colours they chose for their cushion designs and how to create effective contrasting patterns.

The children learnt two basic stitches (running stitch and back stitch) and then used their new skills to sew their fabric together. The children then either added an applique or a cut out design to their cushion and finally stuffed it and stitched it together.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who generously donated fabric for the children to use and for all the volunteers who gave up their time to come and help the children - it is so appreciated!
