This half term, Year 1/2 have been learning all about Dinosaurs! They have learnt about how the dinosaurs died, what they ate and have even written some fantastic dinosaur facts.
The children also learnt about fossils and excavating. The children made their own fossils using Plaster of Paris which dried to create excellent replicas. They also were excavators - excavating fossils (chocolate chips) out of rocks (biscuits). They were very careful and even enjoyed eating their fossils after!
The children, as part of the DT, made moving dinosaurs. We looked at pivots, sliders and levers to make different body parts move. Afterwards we decorated them in dinosaur colours using sponges to create effects.
