Year 3 had a fantastic day at Kent's Cavern as part of our Stone Age focus in History!
We got to explore the pre-historic cave (which was formed around 385 million years ago!)
We were able to explore the ancient cave and learn about how early humans lived there thousands of years ago. We learnt about how the cave was used for shelter and how the different tools used in The Stone Age were crafted from flint and stone. We even had the experience of the lights being turned off so we could experience the cave like the people in the Stone Age would!
We also completed a trail, where we explored lots of different elements of Stone Age life such as hunting gathering, fire making, fishing and medicine making! We were able to handle different historical artefacts such as a neanderthal skull, animal skins and we saw a woolly mammoth tooth.
We had a fantastic time and it really helped us explore our history topic!
